Trip Types
Go Wild offers 4 different ways to explore the Rocky Mountain wilderness.
Multi-day treks through remote terrain.
Backpacking is the most pure way to enjoy and connect with our wild places. “House on your back” style trips provide that connection by allowing us to explore and become intimate with the most remote places in nature. We adventure into the wilderness carrying backpacks consisting of tents, sleeping bags and sleeping pads. Your personal affects and a portion of the group food will be in there as well. Depending on the trip, backpacks can weigh 20-40 pounds and we travel 5-8 miles per day. We make sure to stop and take in the wonders, eat, take pictures and rest at various points along the journey. Each night we make camp, enjoy a wonderful backcountry meal, discuss the day’s journey, and enjoy a night's rest under the stars. We break camp in the morning, make breakfast, and head down the trail. Backpacking remains the best opportunity to reach the magical and remote locations of the wilderness.

Basecamp trips are for those outdoor enthusiasts that prefer to hike with a lighter pack, while returning to a basecamp each night to camp under the stars. Hikers carry only a daypack (about 10-12 pounds) while hiking along accessible sections of our backpacking itineraries. We depart from and return to a set-up camp at a single, centralized location. Basecamps allow guides to focus a bit more on diverse backcountry dinners, while camping near refinements guests are used to- electricity, showers, and a more comfortable sleeping set-up. Great for family trips, and executive team-building retreats.

Then guests return to a lodge for the ultimate in creature comforts at night. We work with privately-owned boutique lodges that represent local values and provide the amenities guests prefer. Trail meals during the day and restaurant diners at night. Comfy beds and mountain ambiance. Lodge based trips are great for families, for retreats, or for those who want to get out into the wilderness, but prefer the comfort of a private room and a bed.

A Go Wild guide will pick you up at your Estes Park hotel, and visit one of our day hike itineraries in and around Rocky Mountain National Park. Dayhikes are private to you and/ or your group, and are a great way to get out into nature on your time schedule, and get back to Estes Park at a reasonable hour for a nice dinner in town!

What people say
Stories from those who've been out there.

As a sales executive, I am always looking for unique experiences for my clients and my team, and the outdoors provides an incredible opportunity for that. We researched far and wide, and Go Wild provided everything we needed. Their second-to-none customer experience and outdoor knowledge made our groups feel supported, relaxed, reinvigorated, and feeling like they had experienced something truly unique. Thanks a million Go Wild!

I am a female solo hiker/ traveler, and was a little nervous about a mixed-gender group trip. The understanding staff at Go Wild explained how solo travelers fit into their groups, and guess what? The group bonded in ways I didn't expect, and I made awesome new hiking friends. We're already planning our next trip!
