If you like incredible views, and alpine lakes, and even more lakes, plus local history and waterfalls… all on a well-maintained trail, then our Black Lake hike is for you! This scenic hike combines all the magic you would expect from a Rocky Mountain trail, plus some settler history, some incredible geology, and some of the best views and photo opportunities in the Park. We’ll pass Alberta Falls, view Longs Peak, see Sky Pond and be enveloped by the famous Glacier Gorge. We’ll see one of the most incredible views in the Park at Mills Lake- views of Keyboard of the Winds, Pagoda Mountain, Chief’s Head, and Thatchtop Mountains. Then on to Jewel Lake, and finally, Black Lake- an alpine lake filling a deep cirque basin under McHenry’s and Chief's Head, both towering above us at over 13,000’. We’ll lunch here, enjoy nature’s majesty and our accomplishment, then head down the trail. Hiking with Go Wild and our crew of local guides gets you on the inside track to some amazing “secret” spots!
