Are you ready for the ultimate hiking adventure? A Longs Peak Day Hike is the challenge for you! Longs Peak is perhaps the most famous of Colorado’s 58 14,000’ peaks, partly due to its visibility from the Front Range and easy access from Estes Park. Be prepared for an alpine start- 2:00am- and we’ll be on the trail by 3:00am. This trail is intense- some immediate elevation gain after leaving the trailhead before leveling out for a bit. We’ll be above the treeline and take a break to catch the sunrise at Battle Mountain while in awe of The Diamond, a massive granite exposure. Then we get after it- the trail onward becomes rocky with exposure, and there will be scrambling (use of hands). We’ll pass through the famous Keyhole and begin our summit ascent on the south side of Longs. Things get narrow along the Trough, perhaps the hardest part of this hike. Weather allowing, we’ll summit and revel in this amazing accomplishment.
COST
1 hiker = $700
2 hikers = $400 per person
3 hikers = $300 per person
4 hikers = $250 per person
We will start our Rockies backpacking adventure by gathering at your hotel, followed by a short drive to Longs Peak Trailhead. We’ll distribute snacks, check guest gear, pack fit, and supplies at the trailhead. Then we’re off- we'll maintain our energy with snacks along the way up, as a steady pace is key. We’ll make sure to stop for refueling and pics on the way. The goal is to summit by 9:00am. We’ll have lunch at Boulderfield on the way down.
